On-Site Jewellery Valuation

Jewellery Valuers Company is proud to be offering an exclusive service which has been designed for clients who prefer the convenience and privacy of having their jewellery, watches, and select antique pieces valued at their own premises.

As part of our on-site service, we do not perform XRF metal testing. If additional testing is required, we may recommend transporting the piece to our office for a more detailed examination.

Our Process

The on-site valuation process consists of two main stages: identification and valuation.

Identification: Our team (usually two valuers) will arrive at the agreed date and time. We will carefully examine each item, including weighing, gemstone testing, metal identification, and taking photos. The duration of this stage depends on the number and complexity of the items. An approximate timeframe can be provided at the time of booking the service.
Valuation: After the on-site identification is complete, we take the collected data back to our office, where the valuation is finalised. This stage generally takes 1–1.5 weeks, depending on the number of items. The final valuation documents will be posted to your provided address, with PDF copies available online.

Client Requirements

All jewellery must be thoroughly cleaned prior to valuation. Dirt and grease may obscure important details.
Previous paperwork (valuations, receipts, or certificates) must be provided where available.
Clear photos of all items must be submitted prior to booking the service to ensure we provide the correct quote.
A suitable workspace is required, including a table, chairs for two valuers, adequate lighting, and access to a power outlet.
A working Wi-Fi internet connection.

Pricing

On-site valuations are charged at our standard fees (link to the price list page) plus an additional 100%. Travel allowance is calculated separately. Exact pricing will be confirmed based on the photos provided prior to booking. A 50% deposit is required.

Legal Disclaimer

In cases where an item cannot be conclusively identified during the on-site visit, we reserve the right to decline valuation of that item. Alternatively, with the client’s consent, the item may be taken to our office for further analysis. Please note that a 50% deposit is mandatory to reserve the booking. A cancellation fee of 50% of the quoted price applies if the service is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment.
